Research

My research lies mainly within macroeconomics with focus on monetary and fiscal policy in sticky-price models.

More specifically, I have worked on:

  • Monetary and fiscal policy interactions
  • Policy coordination
  • Delegation schemes for independent central bankers
  • Credibility issues in macroeconomic policy
  • Monetary policy rules
  • Optimal monetary policy regimes

My current research focuses on (among other things):

  • Equilibrium indeterminacy in monetary economics
  • Welfare consequences of alternative fiscal policy regimes in monetary unions

I have posted a new discussion. It's on "Falling Behind the Curve: A Positive Analysis of Stop-Start Policies and the Great Inflation" by Andrew Levin and John B. Taylor presented at a recent conference at Norges Bank.
